It protects against internal parasites, such as intestinal worms or tapeworms, and external parasites, such as fleas, ticks or sandflies (mosquitoes that transmit leishmaniasis). These parasites can not only seriously affect your pet's health, but some also pose a risk to human health, as they can be transmitted to people. <a href=\"https:\/\/benivetbenissa.com\/en\/services\/veterinary-deworming\/\"><strong>Appropriate deworming<\/strong><\/a> and periodically is key to avoiding digestive, dermatological, infectious or even chronic problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Recommended frequency of internal deworming<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Internal deworming prevents intestinal infections and other pathologies resulting from contact with parasitic eggs or larvae present in the environment, in food or in other animals. In general, it is recommended:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deworm puppies every 15-30 days from 2 weeks of age until 6 months of age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In adult animals, a common guideline is internal deworming every 3 months (4 times a year).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If your pet lives with children, immunocompromised people or has frequent contact with parks, gardens or rural areas, it may be advisable to do this more frequently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The type of product (tablets, syrups, pastes) will depend on the weight, age and tolerance of the animal, and should always be prescribed by a veterinarian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How often to apply external dewormers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>External parasites do not only cause discomfort such as itching or dermatitis: they can also transmit serious diseases, such as leishmaniasis in dogs or haemobartonellosis in cats. To prevent their appearance, it is advisable to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use external protection all year round if the pet goes outdoors or lives in temperate or humid climates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply external dewormers (pipettes, collars, sprays or tablets) on a monthly or bimonthly basis, depending on the product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In times of higher risk (spring and summer), it is advisable to maintain continuous protection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Some products offer combined action against internal and external parasites.
