Legal obligation in the Valencian Community
The only vaccine required by law is the rabies. The regional regulations (Law 2/2023 and Order 3/2016) The requirement to administer it to all dogs between 12 and 16 weeks of age and to revaccinate every year, with registration in the passport and in the RIVIA.
Recommended timetable and additional protection
For full immunity, the vaccine multi-purpose (distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis and leptospirosis) is administered at 8 weeks and booster at 12 weeks. At 16 weeks, rabies is administered and, from then on, is reminded annually along with a general check-up. Although these doses are not compulsory, many homes, insurance companies and municipalities require them and drastically reduce the risk of serious diseases.
Travel and other demands
