The European pet passport is an official document that includes the animal's identification data (name, species, microchip), its vaccinations and deworming treatments, and certifies that it complies with EU health requirements for the intra-European transport of dogs, cats and ferrets.
To obtain it:
- Microchip: Your pet must have a valid microchip, registered in the official system (RIVIA).
- Rabies vaccination: Vaccinate against rabies at least 21 days before the date of travel.
- Authorised veterinarian: Go to a registered professional who will fill in the official form and sign the passport.
- Registration: The veterinarian registers the document in RIVIA, guaranteeing its validity in all EU countries.
- Delivery: Once completed, the passport is handed over to the owner, ready to travel.
